The introduction of the PRX+4171 series of proximity sensors provides a durable, ready-to-install device for applications where the position of a ferrous metal component or ancillary part must be monitored to ensure operator safety and productivity. Rugged construction allows the sensors to survive around dirt, dust, grass, pesticides, lubricants, moisture and vibration. After sensing ferrous material, a built-in SPST relay can switch up to 120 VAC at 0.25 to 3A (depending on sensor model). Two models in the series can be mounted directly to ferrous surfaces. Applications include agricultural and construction equipment, industrial and manufacturing machinery, military and gaming applications, control systems, valve positioning devices and robotics.
Series 740 transducers offer programmable adjustment of the pressure range in the field, by a factor of up to 10:1, with a minimum effect on total accuracy. In addition, the devices have improved thermal compensation, with an increase in overall accuracy up to ±0.25% total error band (TEB) over the entire compensated temperature range.
The PX41 Series of industrial pressure transducers offers high accuracy with a low cost 5V output. Hermetically sealed, the units’ all stainless steel construction makes them suited to harsh environments. The PX41 is available in gage, absolute or sealed models, with 10 ft of four-conductor shielded cable as standard. A Bendix-style connector is also available.
Designed for applications requiring the monitoring of hydrogen sulfide, the Model S4171T features long distance remote mounting, 3-digit display, and a 4-20 mA output. The unit provides sensor life indication, and features fault codes for troubleshooting. The sensor uses a metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) sensor, and is offered in ranges of 0 to 20, 0 to 50, and 0 to 100
ppm.
The INFOSENSE-P plug-and-play sensors automatically link the application’s information to a NIST-traceable calibration lab. An EEPROM chip is preprogrammed with each sensor’s part number, manufacturing information and full range temperature calibration. Initial accuracy of standard thermocouples is improved triplefold, and RTD sensors have demonstrated tenfold greater accuracy at 600ºC.
Series 920 (closed loop) and Series 921 (open loop) DC current transducers automatically monitor system data remotely, making them suited to local and remote power stations where feedback of operational data is required. Custom options allow operation in virtually unlimited temperature sensing applications.
The Smart Programmable Sensor Interface (MSSPSI) is a monolithic CMOS integrated circuit for processing signals from a sensor or MEMs device. Small analog signals are anti-aliased, filtered and amplified before being converted into a digital signal output for a microprocessor. Processing functions are controlled by an external uP through an on-chip interface.
The ProSet4 offers four built-in programmable setpoint outputs for detection of end-of-stroke, or any position in between. Part of the Micropulse family of rod-style cylinder transducers, the device is suited for positioning duties on injection molding machines, woodworking equipment, packaging machinery and presses. The ProSet4 uses discrete I/O, instead of more costly analog control inputs.
In-Sight Explorer for In-Sight vision sensors combines a simplified development of vision applications with efficient administration of a vision sensor network. The software includes a suite of development, management and monitoring tools for the entire development cycle of a vision application. The GUI is Windows-based, as is common to industrial environments.
These analog output, non-contact sensors offer distance measurement and level monitoring from miniature packages. The tubular unit measures M12 x 1 x 70 mm, while the rectangular version measures 15 x 20 x 49 mm. Sensing range is 20 to 200 mm, with a sonic beam angle of 6 degrees, suiting them for sensing objects through bottlenecks, test tubes or ampoules. Reaction time is 30 msec, with 0.3 mm resolution.
Specifically developed for extended life in boiling liquids up to 110ºC, the VCS-07/VCS-08 vertical compact sensors feature a Kynar housing and polyphenylene float. The sensors have maximum switching of 100 VDC/250 Vrms at 1A, and measure 59 mm long with a float diameter of 22 mm. A series of interface units is offered for AC and DC high power and turbulence suppression functions.
Quickon-One is a two-piece, screw-less connection system that uses industrialized IDC contacts for a gas tight connection. The contacts also eliminate the potential for lost screws or stray copper strands during the assembly process. Additionally, chances for loosening screws and intermittent signals as a result of vibration or temperature changes are reduced. Quickon-One connectors meet IP65/67 for harsh environments.
The Model 8501 Piezoelectric Accelerometer is a completely self-contained vibration measuring system with a built-in amplifier within the housing. Designed for measurement of low-level broadband frequency vibrations, it incorporates a hybrid electronic assembly within a double-wall stainless steel body for operation in humid and dirty industrial environments.
This company offers a variety of sensors that are approved to the new ATEX directive 94/9/EC standard, including general purpose and high-frequency ICP accelerometers, velocity output sensors and 4-20 mA output sensors. Many are available with a choice of connector options, such as the industry standard 2-pin military connector, bayonet connector and an integral cable for submersible applications.
The CR-1 multi-channel telemetry system simultaneously measures longitudinal, lateral and vertical forces as well as turnover, torque and turning moments to provide on-wheel signal conditioning and deliver a MOPS-processed RS232 data stream to a laptop or PDA. The SDE5 intelligent pressure sensor is modular in design and suited for various applications where simple pressure sensing is required.
