Advanced
cylinders catalog. This 20-page color catalog features a new line of
NFPA mounting interchangeable medium-duty cylinders and clamping cylinders.
The catalog contains design details, mounting dimensions and technical data
for selecting bore. It also contains rod diameter and stop tube information,
air/oil tank specifications, rod coupler and switch information, accessories
and ordering instructions. Advanced Machine & Engineering Co,
2500 Latham Street, Rockford, IL 61103-3963. 815-962-6076.
Silicon
engineering. This brochure spotlights this company's abilities in the
micromechanical engineering of silicon. Their experience has aided the development
of custom sensors, actuators and precision mechanisms. Specific devices
discussed include precision medical implants, microgyros, piezoresistive
pressure sensors, and electrostatic drive actuators. SiTek Incorporated,
a BEI Company, 13100 Telfair Ave, Sylmar, CA 91342. 818-362-7151.
Connector
engineering design guide. This guide describes connector requirements,
design analysis and material properties for effectively designing spring
contacts and interconnections. The guide contains color photographs, tables,
charts and figures that will increase the designer's knowledge of available
alloys and their specific performance characteristics. Brush Wellman
Inc, 17876 St Clair Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44110. 216-486-4200.
Cold
blackening guide. This guide describes in-house blackening systems which
gives the user control over the quality, scheduling and cost of parts finishing.
The guide contains a cost comparison and capital expense payback worksheet.
The worksheet guides the user through a detailed cost analysis of sending
parts out for finishing versus blackening them in-house. Birchwood Casey,
7900 Fuller Road, Eden Prairie, MN 55344-9702 800-328-6156.
Opto-mechanical
components. This 97/98 catalog includes optical mounts, posts, bases,
assembly hardware, rotation and translation stages to specialty components,
along with tutorials and detailed drawings. The company produces precision
equipment for scientists and engineers, who develop and apply technology
in lasers and optics. The product line also serves in semiconductor manufacturing.
Newport Corp, 1791 Deere Ave, Irvine, CA 92606. 800-222-6440.
Vacuum
sensor brochure. The brochure showcases the SensaVac Series 907 line
of Analog Convection Transducers (ACT). The four-page brochure includes
a product description, specifications, dimensions, applications and prices.
The ACT consists of a convection-enhanced Pirani sensor and an electronic
control circuit. Analog output is standard on the ACT, with one or two setpoints
available. MKS Instruments, HPS Division, 5330 Sterling Drive, Boulder,
CO 80301. 800-345-1967.
Flexible
component. The HELI-CAL Flexure is a flexible helix (curved) beam machined
from one piece of material into a specific configuration that incorporates
special design requirements, performance features or characteristics. A
fold-out brochure illustrates the concept, as applied to flexible couplings,
u-joints and precision machined springs. An engineering proposal form is
included. Helical Products Co. Inc, 901 West McCoy Lane, PO Box 1069,
Santa Maria, CA 93456. 805-928-3851.
State
language for machine control. State Language greatly simplifies machine
automation through an intuitive, sequential action structure, very similar
to the way designers think about their machine functions. The language supports
multi-tasking and allows complex machine automation to be reduced to a modular
structure, simplifying both implementation and debugging. Control Technology
Corp, 25 South Street, Hopkinton, MA 01748. 508-435-9595.
Switching
products. This selection guide helps users choose the correct switch
for any application. The full line includes pushbutton, keylock, rotary,
PC board, emergency stop, toggle, DIP and tact switches, as well as keypads,
flush panel mounting models, and multiple switch assemblies. Each switch
is illustrated and described in terms of features, applications and user
benefits. EAO Switch Corp, 198 Pepe's Farm Road, Milford, CT 06460.
