High-temperature material.
Micatherm HT combines electrical and physical properties of a technical ceramic
with the manufacturing ease and accuracy of a thermoset plastic material. The material
works constantly at temperatures to 450°C and can be molded with equal precision to that
achieved by plastics injection techniques. Thin wall sections are accurately formed and
metal parts accurately molded during processing. The material can solve component design
and production problems in industries such as aerospace, automotive, marine, mining,
nuclear, electronics, domestic appliances and lighting. Morgan Matroc Ltd, Bewdley
Rd, Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire, England DY13 8QR. 01299 827000. Circle600.
Precision-engineered foam products. These foam products offer
strengths from 20 to 3,000 psi, shock resistance, thermal performance from less than
-300°F for cryogenic applications to 350°F, and resistance to harsh solvents and
chemicals. Parts can be produced in high volume in the exact sizes, shapes and materials
required for applications in the aircraft, automotive, cryogenic and marine industries. Romarc
Corp, PO Box 1350, 32 Appletree Lane, Plumsteadville, PA 18949. 215-766-7740.

Gate valves. Series 01 mini gate valves are available with aluminum or stainless steel
bodies in sizes from 58- to 2-in. I.D. They provide 50,000
cycles before their first service and are ideal for processes requiring a clean,
long-life, compact unit. They feature a choice of standard CF, ISO-KF flanges, or a
quick-change flange with integral ISO centered rings and clamps for fast mounting. VAT

Epoxy encapsulant. This one-component epoxy has a low
viscosity of 1,100 centipoise and wetting properties to encapsulate tightly wound coils
and other complex shapes. STYCAST E 151-8 allows the complete impregnation of coils and
other shapes in a simple process. Its semi-flexible and crack-resistant properties provide
durability and impact protection for electrical components. Emerson & Cuming, 46
Manning Rd, Billerica, MA 01821. 800-797-4992. Circle608.
Epoxy resins. Somos 8100 series of epoxy resins for stereolithography produces
translucent white parts for functional and snap-fit applications. The series expands the
applications available to stereolithographers by producing parts with properties similar
to high-density polyethylene, allowing users to create functional prototypes. Reportedly,
the resins offer the fastest photospeed currently available in an epoxy resin. DuPont,
Baley Mill, Building 10, Wilmington, DE 19880. 302-328-8537. Circle601.
Low viscosity adhesive. TRA-CAST 521H01 epoxy provides
adhesion, low shrinkage, low ionic content and flow and wetting properties for
microelectronic component encapsulant and underfill applications where capillary action is
desired. It is resistant to water, weather, gases, galvanic action, solvents, salts,
alkalis and mild acids. The epoxy has a six hour working life and cures in one hour at
100° C. It has a lap shear value of 3500 psi. TRA-CON Inc, 45 Wiggins Ave,
Bedford, MA 01730. 800-872-2661. Circle604.
Flame-retardant nylon. These open-barrel "F"-type
crimped insulated connectors feature a flame-retardant, glass-reinforced nylon material.
Instead of melting and dripping when a malfunction occurs, the compound collapses on
itself and safely holds its shape until the appliance completes an automatic shut-down. A
metal carrier is used instead of traditional plastic to produce large reels of connectors.
