Proxistor proximity switches.
The adjustable sensitivity of these capacitive proximity switches allows them to be
tuned to differentiate between various materials or cope with different installations.
Applications include non-invasive content detection through non-metallic containers; level
detection or flow indication of solids or liquids; bottle counting with content detection;
packaging counting; band loop controlling or breakage indication; use as non-contact
switches; and wire-winding break detection. There are fixed lead or connector versions
with an operating range of -30 to 100°C. They offer reverse polarity and short circuit
protection. All switches are available as normally open or closed. JLC International,

Voltage selector. The SE 1022 voltage selector switch eliminates
unnecessary circuitry and components that are otherwise required for gear to be used in
international service. Applications include computers and peripherals, power supply
circuits, medical equipment and electronic data communication equipment. Electrically, the
voltage selector is a double-pole, double-throw (DPDT) slide switch rated for service up
to 10A at 125 VAC and 5A at 250 VAC. It can be clip- or bolt-mounted. ITW Switches,
Harwood Heights, IL.

Motor starting switches. These AC Motor Starting Switches are designed to provide
positive on/off control for horsepower-rated motors and other general purpose loads. They
include 30 and 40A AC manual starting switches and a 40A welder starting switch. The
switches meet UL508 motor control requirements, and feature toggle and cam mechanisms
molded from thermoplastic construction to assure resistance to repeated impact, chemical
degradation and temperature extremes. Leviton, Little Neck, NY. http://www.leviton.com

Ultra-low profile tactile switch. B3B Tactile Switches measure
just 0.47mm high. With an overall length/width of 4.7mm x 4.7mm, they save valuable PCB
space through high density mounting. Specifications include: switching capacity of 1 to
20mA; 5 to 15 VDC (resistive load); minimum insulation resistance of 100M ohms at 100 VDC;
SPST-NO contact configuration; minimum life expectancy of 50,000 operations; and ambient
operating temperature of -25°C to 70°C. Omron Electronics, Schaumburg, IL.

Pushbutton switches. Foot/Palm Pushbutton Switch products are
designed to ensure interference-free communication between man and machine. Ideally suited
for industries with high pressure wash down areas, such as food processing, bottling and
beverage, petrochemical and dairy, applications include industrial machinery E-stop,
conveyor lines E-stop, powered lifts, doors and platforms, and foot operated
emergency-off. Woodhead LP, Northbrook, IL.

Tiny series.Recognizing that surface mount devices are subject to more
stringent constraints of temperature, sealing, solderability and space savings, the TP
Series pushbutton switches, the TL Series toggle switches, the TR Series rocker switches,
and the TG Series slide switches incorporate the latest advances in this technology. The
company also offers an LED indicator in a compatible package size. Numerous momentary and
maintained electrical configurations are available in these single pole models that also
feature optional positioning pins. Their small size is exemplified by a toggle selection
that measures just 0.218-in. w x 0.378-in. l x 0.397-in. deep. Ratings are 0.4 VA at 20V
max with up to 60,000 cycles of electrical life. APEM, Wakefield, MA. http://www.apem.com
