Industrial-Strength Voltage Relay
High power handling in a small,
board-mounted package
This PCB/surface-mountable AC solid state relay employing
the patented POWERTHERM allows enhanced thermal performance resulting in lower
thermal resistances from junction to case. POWERTHERM provides enhanced relay reliability.
The LR1200480D40 is a DC-controlled, AC solid-state relay capable of controlling up to
40A at a line voltage of 480 VAC. The LR features zero voltage turn-on through
back-to-back SCR output switches capable of 1,200 Vpk transients, a logic compatible
control, and 4,000 Vrms isolation between the input and output. The LR Series is available
in different voltage and current ratings ranging from 240 to 480 VAC, and from 25 to 40A.
A cost-effective triac output version (LRT Series) rated at 10 and 25 amps is also
available. There are three control types in the LR Series: AC input (90 to 280 VAC), DC
input (3 to 32 VDC), and Random Turn-on DC control. The AC and DC control types are zero
voltage turn-on/zero current turn-off to minimize switching transients while the random
control version allows for phase control and pulse width modulation applications.
Solid-state reliability along with improved thermal performance results in reduced
junction temperatures and thus provide added life and reliability for internal components.
These high-current, high-voltage solid-state relays are ideal replacements for
electromechanical relays and other less sophisticated switching devices. Applications
include heater controls, light dimmer controls and process controls in addition to many
other high voltages and current demand requirements.
The printed circuit mountable LR solid-state relay series is housed in a high-grade
stable plastic package insuring protection of the internal circuitry in the most demanding
of environments. Measuring at slightly less than 1.4- by 1.12-in., the LR boasts a
footprint of less than 1.2 square inches and is available with Option -08 surface
mountable leads.
