Control
Animatics Corp, Booth 3303. Controller/amplifier. The
RTC-3000 will operate virtually any small brushed or brushless DC servo motors up to 1A
continuous and 3A peak, yet is only about the size of a credit card. The complete
stand-alone system includes controller, amplifier, logic power supplies, and a program
interpreter with 32k of program memory and 32k of data storage. There are inputs for an
encoder, the motor, Hall sensors, plus general purpose I/O, an additional encoder, plus
Step & Direction signals. 
Baldor Electric Co, Booth 1219. Linear motors and
controls. Many products, including linear motors and controls for medical equipment
applications requiring flexibility, accuracy, speed and repeatability, will be on display
in this company's booth. Other products to be featured will include low-inertial brushless
servo motors with torque ranges from 3.9 through 366 lb-in.; standard inertia brushless
servo motors; servo controls of 3 to 55 amps; and subfractional horsepower motors and
gearmotors. 
Bayside Motion Group, Booths 608, 3520. Precision
motion systems. The Stealth gearmotor line combines helical planetary gearing with a
brushless DC servo motor in a compact package. Available with or without an amplifier, the
units are available in frame sizes of 60, 90 and 115mm. Micro Plus Positioning Systems are
low-cost integrated linear motion systems for applications requiring high speeds over long
distances of travel. They are available with a linear or rotary servo motor in multi-axis
configurations. 
BEI Sensors & Systems Co, Booth 4713. Brushless
DC motors. The company's NEMA DIN34 series brushless DC motors are available in three
standard frame lengths of 2.0-, 2.6- and 3.2-in. A rear shaft extension provides for
encoder mounting. Typical operating speeds range from 6,000 to 18,000 RPM, with continuous
stall of 50, 100 and 135 oz-in, and peak torque ratings of 120, 250 and 350 oz-in.,
respectively. Other torques and operating speeds are also available. 
Bimba Manufacturing Co, Booth 2020. Pneumatic
sensing cylinders. A line of magnetic position sensing cylinders that range up to 3/4
in. in bore size now includes 5/16- and 7/16-in. bore sizes. They can be used with the
company's Giant Magnetorestrictive (GMR) switch, as well as a new reed switch. The
cylinders feature a low profile track on the cylinder body, equal to a 40 percent height
reduction compared to traditional track styles. A variety of stroke lengths are offered,
including many standard lengths. 
Bishop-Wisecarver Corp, Booth 614. Linear motion
system. The GV3 linear motion system combines the proven benefits of the Hepco V
bearing principle with the highly successful Generation II and CM slide systems. Slides
are now available in P1 precision -- ground on V surfaces and all mounting faces; P2
semi-precision -- ground on V faces and slide registers; and the unground P3. Among many
options is a choice of twin bearings, double-row bearings or single-row Slimline bearings.
BRECOflex Co, LLC, Booth 2161. Timing belts.
Kevlar- or steel-reinforced polyurethane timing belts provide outstanding reliability and
long service life expectancy. Belt backings are available in a wide variety of cover
materials with different thicknesses, hardness, density and coefficient of friction. An
optional nylon facing further reduces the coefficiency of friction -- when applied to the
tooth side, nylon facing provides for smooth tooth/pulley intermeshing, reducing noise and
vibration. 
Copley Controls Corp, Booth 3718. Matched
amplifier-motor. The VALUE-PACK motion control package combines the Model 7427AC
servoamplifier with a choice of two matched Size 34 brushless servomotors. Both motors
incorporate resolver sensors for positive feedback and amplifier commutation. Rated speed
on the motors is 4,000 and 6,000 RPM, and peak torques are 307 and 1200 oz-in.,
respectively. The servoamplifier is designed for driving AC brushless motors to 2.5 hp.
DE-STA-CO Industries, Booth 2012. End effector. The
BodyBuilder End Effector System offers users increased durability and a longer life cycle
for the tool. An octagonal boom provides increased stiffness and resistance to radial
twisting, compared to conventional designs that use square extrusions, or square or round
tubing. Heavy-duty transition brackets clamp the periphery of the boom structure for
maximum rigidity under moments of high payload. An integral indexer allows quick
realignments. 
Diequa Corp, Booth 557. Quick connect gearheads. A
low backlash planetary servo speed reducer will be introduced. The integral two-piece
bellows coupling eases assembly, and compensates for shaft misalignment. Also exhibited
will be low backlash spiral bevel gearboxes, the WATT drive helical gearmotors and
reducers, the R+W zero backlash flexible coupling and torque limiting safety couplings, as
well as the Zimm screw jack actuators and systems. 
Fenner Drives, Booth 1054. Timing belts and pulleys. The
FHT pitch belts and pulleys provide higher torque, reduced noise levels and minimal
vibration in a smaller pitch design. The position of the belt's chordal path surrounded by
urethane minimizes meshing stresses created as the belt moves in and out of the pulley.
The FHT's profile distributes dynamic forces in applications more uniformly throughout the
tooth. Applications include ink-jet printers and photo scanners.
