Chicago, Chicago...That OEM Town

Any day now, I'm packing a bag and heading for Chicago to attend National Manufacturing Week taking place March 15-18 at McCormick Place. Chances are, you will be, too, since tens of thousands of design engineers are expected to visit the National Design Engineering Show (NDES) and its related conferences. As a supporting publication of the show, Designfax will exhibit at Booth #2852, and we invite you to come by for a chat with our editors, operations and sales staff, and publisher. We'll be covering the show from every angle in order to report on the latest technology, the newest products and the most advanced materials to help you innovate designs, improve product and system development, and increase speed to market in this $770 billion industry for design engineering products and services.

Our NDES preview section begins on page 94, and offers an advance peek at some of these products, services and design solutions on exhibit. Our write-ups include company names, booth numbers, concise product descriptions, telephone numbers, addresses, and "circle numbers" so you may conveniently contact these organizations directly if you wish. (If you can't make the show, simply circle number 850 on the reader response card and mail it in. You'll receive information on all exhibitors listed in this issue.)

Also in this issue is a relatively new Designfax section titled "EE Shop," page 48, which this month showcases electronic boards and components, electrical hardware, general electrical/electronic products, and an article on trends in the telecommunications industry. EE Shop will appear every other month and will focus on providing information for your electrical/electronic applications.
