- Onboard programmable drive
- Optically isolated I/O
Smart micro
servo drives.
The PC3400 series of brushless servo drives combines intelligence
with power to handle a variety of applications. The unit is
available in continuous output current levels between 2.5-20A.
The PC3400 is the first drive available in the company's line
of servo drives to operate on DC power levels. This capability
meets important industry criteria, particularly in the semiconductor
manufacturing market where most customers operate on a 48-volt
DC power circuit.
The PC3400's small footprint makes it an ideal choice for
semiconductor manufacturing applications as well, while the
power the drive delivers makes it a great choice for use in
packaging, printing, and labeling machines. Features include
onboard-programmable, optically-isolated I/O with 6 inputs
and 2 outputs for high-speed gearing and registration control.
Additional benefits include camming for complex motion coordination.
Optional I/O is also available and, in some cases, the PC3400
series can make decisions on its own, eliminating the need
for a PLC. Ultimately, customers can use the series in a variety
of situations without purchasing a completely separate drive.
For these drives, a common programming language using the
company's ToolPAC software makes programming motion easy.
The same development platform is consistent between the 3400
AC and DC drives, and between the PC3400 servos and the PC2400
stepper drives. Therefore, users save time by only having
to learn one development tool.
In addition, a new program code has been developed for use
in the PC3400, which combines the intuitive, easy-to-understand
strengths of graphical or icon-based programming with the
ability to develop the textual commands used to perform complex
motion operations. This allows the customer to develop application
code in less time because the code is not built from scratch.
