Hybrid actuators
These actuators earn the prefix “Hybrid” because they combine actuation powered by compressed gas with self-contained, hydraulically governed motion. Using air pressures starting at shop standard and up to 300 psi nominal, the devices provide smooth, creeping- and chatter-free displacement, along with accurate positioning anywhere between two terminal points. Position and speed control can be conducted hydraulically, pneumatically, or by a combination of both. Their configuration permits easy integration into existing systems, and the units function in temperatures up to 400ºF. Hy-P actuators can receive modifications using FDA-approved materials, making them suitable in food and medical applications. Configurations include single- or double-rod, hollow-rod, and rodless with bore sizes of 9/16- to 8-in., in strokes up to 24 in.

Injection cylinder control
The DPQ digital controller has advanced control algorithms for fast, accurate system response. Designed for use with hydraulic cylinders with analog feedback, the controls feature user-selectable internal or external injection profile control, easy set-up and application flexibility for use with most injection molding machines. Hydraulic shock is eliminated in all operating conditions, and closed-loop injection velocity and pressure profiles have completely bumpless transactions.

Non-servo automation components
This product line may be integrated into many different configurations for simple bench-top pick and place applications, where cost and sophistication of servo systems is not justified. The design is structured in the Cartesian coordinate system, using shop air as the power source. Control is with simple time-based programming using controllers or desktop computers.

Pneumatic gripper
Exerting 50 lbs of grip force, the DirectConnect Parallel Gripper has a shielded design to repel contaminants. The one-piece body can be mounted to linear slides on its top or side, without the use of adapter plates. Available in stroke lengths of 0.25-, 0.50-, 0.75- or 1.00-in., the gripper is designed with finger mounting surfaces on the sides and bottom of the jaws, and offers single jaw motion with fixed jaw.

Instrumentation brochure
This company offers an eight-panel brochure detailing design features and specifications for each of their flow and vacuum instruments. Included in the brochure are the company’s Metaline series, which accurately measure mass flow without corrections or compensations for gas pressure and temperature, and the 300 Series of mass
flowmeters. Teledyne Hastings Instruments, Hampton, VA www.rsleads.com/304df-223

Miniature vacuum pumps
This line of venturi-style pumps creates a vacuum right at the load, with instant attach and release. The VR Series is designed for use in high-speed assembly and packaging machinery. They use compressed air logic and components, and can be connected to a manifold system for picking up large groupings of separate items or a single load. The pumps require only 72 psi supply pressure.

Rodless cylinders brochure
This 44-page catalog features information on two new models from this company — the i16F6 and i16KF6 rodless cylinders, which include integrated precision linear guideways and recirculating ball bearing systems. Each are offered in six bore sizes from 18 to 63 mm. The i16KF6 is a short cylinder design with a 0-stroke length up to 42% less than that of the i16F6, making it ideal for tight areas. The catalog also shows models with pneumatic braking, gripping, double force action, tandem and parallel designs.

PTFE flow controllers
The Model 401 Flo-Controllers are available for flow rates as low as 15 ml/min. Several I/O options are offered, including 4-20 mA or 0-10 VDC. The PTFE devices are designed for corrosive and UHP fluids. The Model 401 automatically adjusts its integrated valve to maintain the requested flow rate, and an output for real-time flow rate is also provided.

Process controllers
Offered in 2- and 8-channel configurations, the E Series programmable process controllers are designed for applications requiring digital readout for flow rates, or monitoring of tank level or temperature display. Both units in the series can accept and power two 4-20 mA signals, and read two pulse inputs. The displays show engineering units with corresponding bar graphs.
