For interconnecting flexible printed circuits (FPC) and/or
flat flexible cables (FFC), the Circuit Aligning Restraining
Connecting Locking (CARL) Connector features a clamp pressure
system that creates a reliable, gas-tight connection. Unlike
most surface-mount connectors, this device does not require
a mating connector or soldering onto a printed circuit board.
This parts reduction eliminates many points of system failure
and reduces overall development costs. The CARL design allows
users to use the FFC on an "as-needed" basis because
