Signal conditioner. The AM400 single-chip current and voltage interface circuit
provides simultaneous and independent current (4-20mA) and voltage (5-10V) outputs. They
are surface mount or DIP devices specially designed to process the differential output
signal from a wide range of bridge circuits found in pressure sensors, humidity sensors
and other sensing devices. It has a wide operating temperature range, from -40 to
+85C, for all types of applications. Two parallel voltages are available (analog
driver and A/D) and current output (2 and 3-wire operation). All output ranges are
independently adjustable. Using the A/D output, the sensor system can be digitally
calibrated with external microprocessor. Servoflo Corp, 75 Allen St,
Lexington, MA 02173. 781-862-9572. Circle 650.
Screen encoder. This low-power, single IC interfaces any four- or
eight-wire resistive touch screen to PS/2-equipped computers and chip sets. Ideal for
portable systems and interactive kiosks, the IC offers an advanced algorithm for enhanced
motion control, click-to-select functionality and an extra port for hot-plug connection of
an external pointing device. A special command protocol allows the touch screen to
operated in either relative (mouse-like) or absolute mode. USAR Systems, 568
Broadway, New York, NY 10012. 212-226-2042. Circle 651.
Integrated passive device. The PAC 560 GTL is designed for socket 370-based processors
in desktop systems, such as Intel Celeron and Mendocino processors. The 560 GTL provides
resistor termination that minimizes inductance, exhibits low cross talk and has high
frequency performance. It is available in a 28-pin QSOP package and provides a 5 chip
termination solution for processor bus lines. California Micro Devices, 215
Topaz St, Milpitas, CA 95035. 800-325-4966.

Audio DAC. The AD1853 is a 24-bit stereo audio D/A converter
that meets the 192 kHz audio sample rate standard for DVD players. The IC combines
proprietary data conversion technology with a sigma-delta converter core to deliver audio
performance at every sample rate from 32kHz to 192kHz. It has a superior signal-to-noise
ratio of 117dB stereo and 120dB mono, not muted at 48kHz. Analog Devices,
