Tangless CoilThread insert, installation time and costs associated with the use of threaded inserts are reduced. The resilient, high-tension coil inserts are installed with Kato hand, air-driven or electric tools, which feature a special head that grips and drives the insert. The bi-directional design of the insert eliminates the need to orient each part and saves additional time in applications that require accounting and inspection of each removed tang. The high-tension coils undergo diameter reduction during installation, and the outward tension of the coil locks the insert in place. Each coil can flex independently for greatest thread-surface contact, improving static and dynamic load-bearing capabilities.
