Mechanical: POWER TRANSMISSION
Planetary epicyclic drives.
The Type SA drive is the latest generation of Rotomission technology.
This compact differential consists of three elements which are mechanically
connected by the sun and planet gears. Combining the motion of the three
elements solves many electro-mechnical drive problems. It employs a compound
epicyclic system of gearing to provide high-torque capacity and a wide range
of reduction ratios in a compact space. The torque capacity is a direct
function of the number of planetary gear assemblies used. Consequently,
a maximum range of ratios and capacities are provided from a minimum number
of basic sizes and components. Many sizes are available to meet output torque
and casing speeds. Andantex, Wanamassa, NJ. Free info--Circle

V-belts. Dynam series
V-belts ensure belt tension by providing two clearly-printed marks that
can be measured against a pre-specified distance. Risks of slippage are
reduced to 1% with 95% power transmission efficiency guaranteed. Correctly
tensioned belts minimize the load on bearings necessary for efficient contact
between balls or rollers and their track. Vibration and noise are reduced
while belt life is increased. Colmant Cuvelier, Lille Cedex,

Planetary
gearboxes. These swiss-made gearboxes are available in 22 to 120mm
dia., with motor speeds up to 5000 rpm and typical 10,000 hr life. Low and
extra-low backlash and heavy-duty torque versions are available. Designed
to fit most common motors, mounting configurations include hollow shaft,
double-shaft, square, round, motor-larger-than-gearbox and vertical installation
position. MAXMAR Controls Inc, Pleasantville, NY. Free

Interplanetary gearbox.
Designed for applications where diffusive power transmission is required,
the Kopernican-IXß gearbox features a revolutionary sungear that drives
9.5 planet gears, along with interorbiting satellite gears, dissipating
power evenly throughout the system. Electronic filtering reduces radio interference
from the self-lubricating ferrous-coated sun gear. Options include oort
and kuiper belt drives. Cosmic Gearheads Inc, Flying H, NM.
