Gear design software
The Integrated Gear Software (IGS) system combines over 70 individual modules, each representing a particular issue or stage in the gear design and manufacturing process, into a cohesive, user-friendly environment. The IGS system “back-calculates” using the company’s TK Solver, shares data, archives and shares designs, performs tolerance analyses and produces detailed reports. The software aids elimination of noise and premature failure in gears, reduces trial-and-error procedures, and thereby lowers engineering expenses and speeds time-to market. The modular structure includes advanced and basic gear design and manufacturing for metal/plastic gears, as well as crossed-axis, epicyclic and spline design and manufacturing. Designs are grouped both horizontally and vertically, with all modules sharing data.

Roller chain
The Dust Stopper pre-lubricated roller chain seals out dust and debris in applications where regular lubrication is not possible or practical. A one-piece powdered metal bushing/roller impregnated with oil the lubricant is sealed into the chain joints. Product specifications include speeds from 650 to 1300 ft/min at pitches ranging from ˝ to 1 in. Sizes 30, 50, 60 and 80XDLO are available.

Synchronous belts
The WhiteHawk and BlackHawk Pd synchronous belts offer universal tooth profile compatibility, high-Hp loads and reduced drive widths. Both belts contain the company’s Hibrex rubber compound, an oil-resistant cross-linked elastomer formulated to increase tooth rigidity. Each belt tooth profile has the company’s Plioguard facing to resist abrasion, reduce friction and ratcheting, and engage sprockets smoothly.

High-angle CV joints
The high-angle Cornay constant velocity joint features lower weight, less space, less vibration and noise and greater torque than traditional CV joints. They can conform to MIL-spec requirements, operate at higher rpm and greater flexibility, with no CV boot required. Various sizes, angles and configurations are available, including double- and double-offset joints.

Chain tensioners
Spann-Box and Spann-Boy automatic chain tensioners allow chains to glide over a wear resistant synthetic profile with self-lubricating properties. Variable tension is produced by three springs that can be released (and locked again) individually. Spring force is available from 60 to 800N. Various standard and custom configurations are possible, including tight mounting, corrosion protection and limit switches.

Gear-life calculation
The stable properties of this company’s gear material allow their engineers to calculate tooth root stresses while factoring the self-lubricating properties of the material in order to anticipate wear and predict gear-life. Thus, plastic gears can replace metal gears to eliminate lubrication, reduce noise, inertia and maintenance, while increasing shock absorption and wear life.
