Switcher series
- * fail-safe redundancy
- * low profile
Meeting the rapidly-increasing demand for fail-safe 300 watt systems,
the CSS300 family of single-, dual-, triple, and quad-output open frame
switchers feature input power factor correction that reduces harmonics below
EN61000-3-2. Two or more of these power supplies can be paralleled for (n+1)
redundant operation. A single-wire current sharing scheme insures that all
supplies contribute equally. Outputs 1 and 2 include a remote sensing feature
which regulates a constant voltage at load rather than at the power supply
output terminals, eliminating the voltage drop caused by the resistance
of cables or PCB traces. The product's compact 8.5- by 4.75- by 1.5-in.
size is suitable for 1U (1.75-in.) rack and other low-profile applications.
Cortech Systems, Simi Valley, CA.
Isolation transformer. The SM75570 surface-mount isolation transformer
features a turns ratio of 1:2 ±2%, an OCL of 40 µH at 100 KHz
and typical SRT at 4 MHz. Maximum height is 2.3mm with a footprint of 12.6
by 10mm. Datatronics, Romoland, CA.
Shielded inductor. The WCI series of shielded ferrite-core,
low-radiation inductors feature low DC resistance with high current-handling
capacities. Available inductance ranges between 1.0 and 1000 µH. JARO
Components Inc, Boca Raton, FL.
Compact power supply. Compared to traditional linear power supplies,
the MCS series is extremely compact and lightweight.. They are available
in single-phase and three-phase configurations. Murrelektronik Inc,
Doylestown, PA.
DC power jacks. Designed to snap into any pre-set holes, the
MJ-60 and MJ-61 panel mount DC power jacks have a tolerance of ±3,
contact resistance of 30µ(omega) and insulation resistance of 500V
DC/100µ(omega) min. Shogyo International Corp, Plainview,
NY.
Voltage regulators. S-818 series of LDO voltage regulators features
a low quiescent current of 100-500nA with the power off and 30-40µA
during operation. Low power consumption and high-output current allow it
to be used in a wide range of portable applications. A built-in power-off
circuit ensures long battery life and the built-in low on-resistance transistor
provides low dropout voltage and large output current. Seiko Instruments
USA Inc, Torrance, CA.
Synchronous rectification. When used with the company's DC-DC
converter-specific HEXFET power MOSFETs, the IR1176 SRIC enhances 1.5 and
1.8V DC-DC converter efficiency ratings to 85-86%. International Rectifier
Corp, El Segundo, CA.
3-phase bridge rectifiers. Available in voltages from 50 to
1200V, the 3PB series of compact 25- and 35-amp three-phase bridge rectifiers
feature low forward voltage drop, low reverse leakage currents, high single
cycle surge current, 2500V terminal-to-base minimum isolation and operating
temperature range from -65° to 150°C. The rectifiers are constructed
using glass passivated die for greater reliability. Edal Industries
Inc, East Haven, CT.
Decoupling filters. Designed for domestic and industrial PLCs,
these filters protect transmitted data from unintentional or deliberate
signal corruption or eavesdropping. Signal attenuation is reduced to enhance
long-distance reliability. Schaffner EMC Inc, Edison, NJ.
Toroids and cores. The Polygap core line, including microgap
toroid, nanogap cores and pseudo distributed gapped formed cores, is composed
of ISKRA 75G materials for performance at temperatures above 125°C.
Ceramic Magnetics Inc, Fairfield, NJ.
Photoetched anodes & cathodes. For use in fuel cells, oxygen
generators and hydrogen generators, these pure titanium anodes and cathodes
can be photochemically etched without inducing the stresses common to machining,
allowing the material to be friction-bonded or brazed. Pure titanium can
be etched in a wide range of sizes from 0.0005- to 0.090-in., and the process
results in an exceptionally smooth surface. Photofabrication Engineering
Inc, Milford, MA.
