Rotary actuator

  • ultra-thin profile
  • durable precision

Designed for industrial and harsh environments, the RR-76 rotary actuator has a bearing-supported flange capable of supporting payloads up to 200 lbs. Its ultra-thin profile suits it for compact work spaces. Zero backlash, preloaded ball bearings and slip-fit dowel pins provide precision and repeatability. The product can be used in both pneumatic and hydraulic applications. Rack-and-pinion components are made from hardened tool steel, while the tooling flange and the one-piece rotary body are made from aircraft-quality aluminum with Teflon impregnation. Options include a rotary manifold that eliminates twisting airlines, a mid-position stop for 3-position applications, adjustable shock absorbers, sensors and flow controls. Robohand Inc, Monroe, CT. Linear guides. The OSP-P linear guides for pneumatic systems is available in 6 piston diameters between 16 and 63mm. They take high loads and forces with high precision, smooth operations, and can be retrofitted or installed in any position. Hoerbiger-Origa, Glendale Hts, IL. Free info—Circle 573. www.RSLeads.com/110df-573

Hydrodynamic bar feeders. Designed for Swiss-type turning machines and small, fixed-head CNC lathes, Mini-Rhinobar single-tube hydrodynamic bar feeder systems can be equipped with as many as 16 feed tubes in 1/8-in. increments. Lexair Inc, Lexington, KY. Free info—Circle 572. www.RSLeads.com/110df-572

Hydraulic motors. Type MR low-speed, high-torque motors have five pistons and cylinders radially-oriented around a central crankshaft. Maximum continuous input pressure is 3625 psi and maximum operating speed is 800 rpm. Denison Calzoni, Marysville, OH. Free info—Circle 568. www.RSLeads.com/110df-568

Position sensors. Slag-shielding BMF 32M and 305M magnetic field sensors provide high weld-field immunity and splatter resistance for dependable pneumatic cylinder positioning in automated welding applications. Anodized aluminum bodies shrug off weld splatter while solid-state electronics operate in weld fields to 200 kA without false triggers nor electrical damage. They can be installed in a variety of cylinder housing styles. Balluff Inc, Florence, KY. Free info—Circle 566. www.RSLeads.com/110df-566

Manifolds. Stainless-steel Smartflow manifolds have standard inlet sizes of 1- and 1-1/2-in. NPT. Manifolds are rated for 250°F, 125 psig max for air and 250 psig max for liquids. Standard and customized options are available. Burger Engineering Inc, Olathe, KS. Free info—Circle 569. www.RSLeads.com/110df-569

End position controller. Complementing the company’s modular pneumatic systems, the SPC 11 positioner reduces traversing time up to 30% and increasing cycle rates. Mechanical load is minimized to extend service life. Festo Corp, Hauppauge, NY. Free info—Circle 570. www.RSLeads.com/110df-570

Swing arm clamps. Series PA clamps have a working pressure of 40-100 psi. Reed and Hall effect sensors are available for interfacing with electronic controls and logic systems. They are permanently lubricated for non-lube air applications. PHD Inc, Fort Wayne, IN. Free info—Circle 571. www.RSLeads.com/110df-571

Sub-miniature air cylinders. This company’s pneumatic solenoids are used in compact jigs and fixtures. Unlike electrical solenoids, operation is on plant air. The advantages of this approach are: elimination of heat and magnetic fields near digital media; maintenance of force without consuming power; and provision of nearly constant force throughout the range of motion. Standard products are available in various configurations, sizes and strokes. Mack Corp, Flagstaff, AZ. Free info—Circle 567. www.RSLeads.com/110df-567

Gas springs. Meeting ISO-11901, NAAMS, Chrysler, Ford and GM die standards, T2 ISO series nitrogen gas springs have modular and welded mounts. The series features a secondary piston ring assembled into the rod, as well as a guide with built-in pressure relief in the event the spring is assembled upside-down. Sizes range from 750 to 7500 kN. Three mini-gas springs—T2-90, T2-180 and T2L-300—are included in the series. Hyson Products, Brecksville, OH. Free info—Circle 574. www.RSLeads.com/110df-574
