Lightweight but tear-resistant fabric provides quick, uniform heating

Currently being used in the aerospace industry for in-flight wing and rotor de-icing, Thermion fabric has found uses in the medical industry. The flexible fabric consists of random, nickel-coated carbon fibers (laminated in a variety of thermoplastic, thermosetting elastomeric or composite materials) that provide almost instant edge-to-edge heat when powered from virtually any electric source. The encapsulated fabric is highly resistant to damage, puncture and thermal fatigue, easily withstanding harsh environments.

The result is a very thin, lightweight, flexible surface heater that is easily customized. It can be manufactured to customer-specified size, shape and heating ranges. The low thermal mass allows fast heating and rapid cool down, helpful where cycle time is important. Good temperature uniformity is another important benefit for medical and scientific uses where temperature must be maintained with little variation.

Female luers
