  • increased efficiency

Oil-shear motor brakes
Designed for high-stress start/stop drives, the low-inertia design and oil-shear cushioning of the Magna shear motor brakes provide fast response with smoother stops, less wear and stress on drives, and better energy efficiency than seen with conventional dry-friction brakes. Seven model/frame sizes provide torque ratings from 4 to 1250 ft-lbs. Standard units are fully sealed, for dependable service as a holding or cycling brake in oil, grit and moisture environments. Anodized housings are available for caustic exposure or washdown. Electric actuation is 110-120 V and load holding is spring set. Braking torque transmits by shearing automatic transmission fluid between multiple friction disks; heat is absorbed into the recirculating oil — not just the friction surfaces — to reduce wear. The multi-disk design reduces inertia, speeds response and increases braking torque in a smaller dia. configuration to lower motor hp and energy draw when accelerating drives. Force Control Industries Inc, Fairfield, OH.   www.rsleads.com/210df-184

Pancake reducers
The PBR series of compact, zero-backlash pancake reducers offers very low profiles with input mounting to accept either NEMA or metric motors. The series incorporates a compression coupling motor shaft interface and is available with continuous output torques from 31 to 355 in.-lbs. Standard rations are 10:1, 15:1, 20:1 and 30:1. Lansea Systems Inc, Quincy, MA.   www.rsleads.com/212df-185

Polygonally-shaped shafts
Designed for greater load carrying capacities than splines, keys, flats or other common drive connections, Polygon shafts and bores provide smoother movement on sliding drive connections with reduced sliding clearance and backlash. They can withstand greater shock loads under extreme torque reversal conditions, such as found in brakes and transmissions. Stoffel Polygon Systems Inc, Tuckahoe, NY.   www.rsleads.com/212df-186

Compact brake
Based on using mechanical leverage to amplify the force of the friction linings against the respective opposing friction surface, the backlash-free, spring-applied SEMO-Brake thus displays high torque for its size. This brake can be released using electromagnetic, pneumatic or hydraulic force. The brake can be installed in horizontal or vertical position or at any angle. Orttech, Willoughby, OH.   www.rsleads.com/212df-187

Conveyor part holder
The FlexLoc convertible holder system provides part-holder accuracy of ±0.01-in. in four axes, ensuring precision delivery of small parts for tight-tolerance timing- or flat-belt applications. It can be a high-accuracy alternative to bolt-to-belt and thermally welded designs, or a cost-effective alternative to link-type conveyor systems. Conveyor Technologies Ltd, Loveland, OH.   www.rsleads.com/212df-188

Drive rollers
Extended-shaft drive rollers accommodate shaft sizes of 3/8- to 1¼-in. dia., and come assembled with hub and set-screws to lock onto the shaft. Outside diameters range from 1½- to 4-in., while widths are 1-, 1¼- and 2-in. Materials include black neoprene, white nitrile and polyurethane, in durometers from 20 to 95, with solid, finned and DuraSoft styles. Fairlane Products, Fraser, MI.   www.rsleads.com/212df-189

Servo insert couplings
Manufactured with backlash-free, vibration-dampening elastomer inserts, the Servomax EZ2 series of line shaft couplings have high-strength precision aluminum tubes exhibiting very high torsional rigidity. The couplings can span distances from 4 in. to 13 ft without a center support and can transmit torques from 88.5 to 4000 in.-lbs. R+W America LP, Bensenville, IL.   www.rsleads.com/212df-190

Modular conveyor
The ST-PLN WhisperTrax straight closed-top conveyor features acetal plastic chain for long life and quiet operation, generating 1/20 the noise of conventional plastic conveyors. Twelve belt widths from 7.31- to 46.28-in. are available in lengths from 2 to 104 ft. Standard speed ranges from 5 to 75 ft/min, with optional speeds up to 400 ft/min. SpanTech, Glasgow, KY.   www.rsleads.com/212df-191

Drive chain
The IWIS MEGAlife maintenance-free chains and CR corrosion-resistant chains can operate with no lubrications for difficult-to-lubricate applications. The chains exhibit elevated wear- and corrosion-resistance and high fatigue strength. CR chains are made from hardened high-alloy steels with greater breaking strength than stainless steel chains. MRC Bearing Services, Kulpsville, PA.   www.rsleads.com/212df-192

Magnetic conveyor
These Standard Frame Magnetic Conveyors are modular in design for quick assembly. Horizontal, incline and vertical conveyors can be used to transport, feed, accumulate, elevate, orient and sequence ferrous and partially ferrous items. Inclines can be as steep as 90-degrees. Custom units can be accommodated, especially for highly abrasive materials. Bunting Magnetics Co, Newton, KS.   www.rsleads.com/212df-193

Inverted conveyors
Designed for contamination-free movement and easy accessibility to transported loads, the Unibilt inverted conveyors feature WebbAlloy II steel track, which is up to 43% harder than other conveyor systems. Ranging from simple delivery systems to complex computer-controlled accumulation conveyors, these units feature variable speed drive units and spur lines that can route loads to multiple locations. Jervis B Webb Co, Farmington Hills, MI.   www.rsleads.com/212df-194

Hydraulic mechanical locking coupling
Designed for marine and other heavy-duty applications, the ETP-Hycon hydraulic mechanical locking coupling is suited for high torque and high-rigidity requirements. The compact, lightweight quick-mounting coupling will not damage contact surfaces. An accessory hydraulic pump provides pressure to drive the outer sleeve up onto the inner sleeve and the conical angle locks it mechanically. Zero-Max Inc, Plymouth, MN.   www.rsleads.com/212df-195

Static-free belt
This Static Dissipative Belt is made from Cyclothane-SD, a thermoplastic urethane that minimizes harmful static electric buildup on conveyors and other machinery. The O-ring power transmission belt offers a volume resistivity of 2 E9 -cm and static decay rate under 0.01 seconds. Static decay rates are reputed to be 10 to 100 times better than anti-static urethanes. Dura-Belt Inc, Hilliard, OH.   www.rsleads.com/212df-196

Friction clutch
The CS-08 series friction clutch features a snap-on gear for easy, tool-less assembly. The modular clutch has a static friction torque of 0.25 Nm and response time of 20 msec. It has zero backlash and low 2.4W power consumption. Applications include office automation (printers, copiers and fax equipment) and light-industrial where cost is a factor. Flexible couplings
Miniature Heli-Cal Flexure flexible couplings provide dynamic stability and vibration-free, smooth bearing loads, even at misaligned positions (e.g. 5-degree angular). Machined from single piece, homogenous high strength materials into helical configurations, the couplings eliminate the need for elastomeric elements, such as rubber bushings, spiders, rubber discs and pads. Helical Products Co Inc, Santa Maria, CA.   www.rsleads.com/212df-198

Spherical bearings
DuraLube self-lubricating plain bearings provide long, grease-free operation in light to medium load applications. A PTFE liner reduces friction between the inner and outer surfaces. They do not attract or hold dirt like grease-fed counterparts. Typical applications include agricultural, material handling, construction, hydraulic cylinders and off-highway equipment.
