Blow-molding sim cuts fuel-tank development time by 40%
VITEC produces plastic fuel storage and delivery systems for automotive manufacturers, including General Motors, DaimlerChrysler, and Harley-Davidson. Like most suppliers, VITEC uses volume and grade-line studies to assess manufacturability and functional performance of its designs before production. VITEC's new process compares simulations from CAD data with models derived from scanned physical parts to ensure accurate thickness measurements.

Camera-based automotive systems could save costs and lives
In the United States and Europe, more than 40,000 people are killed each year in automobile accidents. A new study from ABI Research reveals that the active safety features under development to address many of the causes of accidents may become more affordable, thanks to recent advances in camera technology. "All major suppliers are actively working on camera-based sensing technology," says senior analyst David Alexander. "But they don't all agree on which applications will be first to take off in the market, or even which are best suited for camera sensors."

"Through our cradle-to-grave philosophy, Fusor adhesives are now applied on the assembly line, used for in-plant and port repair, as well as for dealer warranty and collision repair," says Jim Perritt, global marketing manager and North America sales manager for LORD.
