Porsche has unveiled the 2027 911 GT3 S/C, a new model variant focused squarely on drivers who prize visceral, open-air performance. Standing for "Sport Cabriolet," the GT3 S/C provides a pure driving experience by pairing the lightweight body and chassis components of the 911 S/T with the high-revving, naturally aspirated 4.0-liter boxer engine of the 911 GT3.
Unlike its spiritual predecessor, the 2019 911 Speedster, the 911 GT3 S/C is not a limited-production model, and it features a fully power-operated convertible top rather than a manual roof. It is also the only open-top model in the current 911 lineup configured as a strict two-seater. For the first time, Porsche is introducing an optional Street Style Package on the GT3 S/C, allowing owners to customize the sports car's appearance further to their taste.

"The new 911 GT3 S/C responds to our customers' desire for sports cars that are particularly fun to drive," said Frank Moser, vice president of the 911 and 718 model line. "The exciting powertrain of the 911 GT3 comes into its own even more when driving without a roof, especially on winding country roads. Above all, because we have managed to keep the weight of the 911 GT3 S/C particularly low at 3,322 pounds, despite the fully automatic top."
High-revving, 502-hp naturally aspirated powertrain
At the heart of the 911 GT3 S/C is Porsche's revered 4.0-liter six-cylinder boxer engine, delivering 502 hp (375 kW) and 331 lb-ft of torque with an extraordinary 9,000 rpm redline. To enhance top-end power delivery, the engine features revised cylinder heads derived from the latest 911 GT3, sharper camshafts from the 911 GT3 RS, flow-optimized single throttle valves, and upgraded oil coolers.
In keeping with its uncompromising driver-focused positioning, the 911 GT3 S/C is available exclusively with a short-ratio, lightweight six-speed GT Sport manual transmission. It shares its short constant axle ratio with the 911 S/T and the 911 GT3, enabling swift acceleration across every gear. The 911 GT3 S/C accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and reaches a top track speed of 194 mph. Removing the roof amplifies the raw, mechanical exhaust note of the naturally aspirated boxer engine.

Consistent lightweight construction
To maintain true GT-level agility, Porsche applied rigorous weight-saving measures throughout the vehicle structure, achieving a total curb weight of 3,322 lb. Borrowing heavily from the lightweight strategy of the 911 S/T, the front hood, front fenders, and doors are constructed from carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). Carbon fiber is also used under the vehicle for the rear anti-roll bar, connecting links, and underbody shear panel beneath the rear axle.
The braking system and rolling gear follow the same minimalist philosophy:

Advanced power-operated roof and exterior design
Because the 911 GT3 S/C does not feature the double-bubble rear cover of the 2019 Speedster, engineers equipped it with a fully power-operated fabric roof. The top structure makes extensive use of lightweight magnesium panels, front roof frame sections, and rear window frames. These rigid magnesium panels allow the fabric roof to form an elegant, coupe-like arc from the windshield frame to the rear lid without visible support bows or structural interruptions, benefiting both aesthetics and aerodynamics.
A lightweight hydraulic mechanism opens or closes the convertible top in approximately 12 seconds. To ensure open-air comfort across varying speeds and weather conditions, an integrated, electrically operated wind deflector deploys or retracts at the push of a button in just two seconds.
Visually, the GT3 S/C stands out thanks to its black-foiled windshield frame (which can be ordered in body color as a no-cost option) and matte-black side protection film on the rear panels. Matrix Design LED headlights with integrated daytime running lights eliminate the need for extra lighting units in the front apron, allowing for larger air intakes and a cleaner front profile.

The front spoiler lip and rear diffuser are shared with the current 911 GT3. At the rear, the GT3 S/C becomes the first open-top 911 model to feature a power-retractable rear spoiler equipped with an integrated Gurney flap, a feature inspired by the 911 S/T and 911 GT3 with Touring Package.
Chassis and dynamic tuning
The chassis tuning of the new 911 GT3 S/C matches the setup found on the 911 GT3 with Touring Package, balancing sharp response with compliant road handling.
"We have already learned with the 911 Speedster and the 718 Spyder RS how well our high-revving naturally aspirated engine -- particularly dynamic handling characteristics and consistent lightweight construction -- fit a driver's car without a roof," said Andreas Preuninger, director of GT Cars. "The arrival of the 911 GT3 S/C marks the first time an open-top 911 uses a double wishbone front axle. In combination with the particularly high-grip sports tires and the low weight, the car offers driving pleasure on winding roads that has hardly been experienced with an open-top car before."
Driver-focused interior
The interior of the 911 GT3 S/C combines high-end craftsmanship with track-focused functionality. Weight reduction remains a clear theme inside, evidenced by lightweight floor carpets and doors adapted from the 911 S/T featuring lightweight CFRP door opening loops.

Standard interior features include:
Directly behind the steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster displays essential vehicle data. Driver focus is enhanced via the selectable "Track Screen" mode, which strips away auxiliary displays to show crucial readouts -- tire pressures, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level -- alongside a shift indicator light. Drivers can also rotate the digital central tachometer to position the 9,000 rpm redline directly at the 12 o'clock mark for clear visibility during spirited driving.

With its blend of S/T lightweight components, GT3 high-revving power, manual engagement, and an open-top chassis, the 2027 Porsche 911 GT3 S/C delivers an unfiltered driving experience tailored for country roads and open highways alike.

Optional Porsche Street Style Package offers further means of customization
For the new 911 GT3 S/C, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur offers an optional Porsche Street Style Package. This "Director's Cut" from the pen of the design studio called "Style Porsche" conceptually picks up on modern combinations of colors and materials in the interior and exterior.
