Macron Dynamics' belt-driven X/Z T-Bot systems (TBG line) are perfect for pick-and-place processes. The simple design, where a single belt drives both axes, means there is no need for costly cable carriers. This type of motion can be used for anything pick-and-place oriented, and the extruded construction means it can scale to virtually any application. The architecture of the line allows for smaller travel heights for the Z axis, providing a more compact structure that is easier to integrate into existing designs. Models available to handle max loads from 10 to 100 lb.

Thomson Industries has released what it is calling "the first-ever true collaborative extension of cobots." Adding a horizontal operating range up to 10 m, the MovoTrak CTU (cobot transfer unit) 7th axis sets itself apart with collision detection that stops the cobot when it encounters an obstacle, facilitating collaboration and increasing productivity. An industrial robot transfer unit (RTU) has also launched, which can be easily integrated with a user's preferred motor and drive. Compatible with even the largest cobots, such as the UR20 and UR30.

BelAZ-75710, the world's largest mining two-axle, all-wheel-drive dump truck, rolled out of the BelAZ plant (Zhodzina, Belarus) in late 2013 and is now being field tested as the biggest machine of its class. It features a record-breaking capacity of 450 metric tons -- 25 percent more than its nearest competitor.
To suit the demands of the gigantic hauling truck, Siemens developed a unique AC traction drive system, called the MMT500. The system is comprised of four 1,200-kW electric motors, two traction generators, three blowers, a brake resistor unit, and a control cabinet with two ELFA inverters.
As opposed to its predecessors, the new dumper is provided with eight wheels, each designed for about 100 tons of load. For this design, Siemens traction division experts chose to develop a reliable and powerful, all-wheel drive train with four electrical motors. The use of the all-wheel gear has opened up new possibilities of distributing tractive effort to both axles. Further, in case of failure of one of the driving gears, an emergency mode can be activated, which enables the dumper to get to the service station without being towed. The traction motors for the electric gear were manufactured at Siemens facilities in Nurnberg, Germany. The project was completed in a comparatively short term: the development process from ordering to commissioning took less than two years.
BELAZ-75710 is the first vehicle in the class of super-high-load trucks having a weight-carrying capacity of 450 tons. It is over 20 m long, nearly 10 m wide, and 8 m high. The turning diameter is about 20 m. The new dump truck has embodied the latest technological solutions ensuring its high efficiency, reliability, maneuverability, and smooth running as well as the driver's comfort and safety.
With a maximum speed of 64 km/h, BelAZ-75710 is in high demand in the mines of the Kuzbass region of the Russian Federation, as well as certain coal strip mines of Chile and North America. The first dump truck is due to set off to one of the open mines of the Kuzbass coal field.
