Slate Truck: Jeff Bezos-backed a-la-carte EV that you can make into an SUV
Minimalist and modular are two descriptors for the new, highly customizable, all-electric Slate Truck from Michigan-based startup Slate Auto. Slightly larger than a 1985 Toyota SR5 Pickup, the under-$20,000 Blank Slate will come in only one color (Slate Gray, of course) but is made to be customized to your heart's content with body wraps, accessories, and kits -- you can even make it Jeep-like or a five-seat SUV. The company received more than 100,000 pre-orders in the first two weeks since the truck launched.

Maximize moisture mitigation: Precision-fit desiccants are functional parts too
Injection molding techniques enable desiccants to provide moisture adsorption in nearly any enclosed volume, regardless of the volume's shape complexity, and are tough enough for use as structural components. Specifically, injection molding allows for desiccants formed to occupy up to 100% of available space in order to maximize moisture adsorption -- especially in enclosures for sensitive instruments -- while bringing the low costs, repeatability, and precision tolerances typical of molded plastics. Great for electronics, aerospace and defense, and more.

57 years ago: NASA solves the 'pogo effect' -- gets one step closer to moon landing
On July 18, 1968, NASA announced that engineers had found a solution to the problem that occurred near the end of the Saturn V rocket's first stage during the uncrewed Apollo 6 mission. During the last 10 seconds of that first-stage burn, the rocket experienced longitudinal oscillations called "pogo effect." Had a crew been on board, they would have experienced severe vibrations and even possible injury.

What is a braking resistor?
According to AutomationDirect, "Braking resistors don't actually provide braking directly -- rather, they allow a drive to stop a loaded motor faster." Why is this important? Protect your AC or DC drive system from regenerative voltage that can create an over-voltage fault on the drive -- especially with high inertial loads or rapid deceleration.
