 | Porsche 911 Sport Classic 2023: The ducktail is back
Fans of iconic Porsche design have something new to celebrate: The 911 ducktail is back. This time around it takes the form of the limited-edition 911 Sport Classic, which pays tribute to the 911 Carrera RS 2.7 of the early 1970s. Production of this 543-hp collector's car is limited to 1,250 units.

 | 55 Years Ago: Tragedy on the Apollo 1 launch pad
On Jan. 27, 1967, with the planned launch of the first Apollo mission to carry a crew just 25 days away, Apollo 1 astronauts Virgil I. "Gus" Grissom, Edward H. White, and Roger B. Chaffee were conducting a key test with their spacecraft on the launch pad. The test involved a mock countdown with the astronauts wearing spacesuits inside their capsule, sealed and pressurized with oxygen.

A Xerox ElemX 3D metal printer has been installed at Oak Ridge National Lab to advance metal additive manufacturing (AM) technologies. ElemX leverages Liquid Metal AM that uses cost-effective aluminum wire and is easily deployed. Unlike many metal 3D-printing technologies, it requires minimal post-processing, which means shorter overall cycle times.
